Aftelier Perfume is home to one of the most comprehensive collections of pure natural perfumes. Founder and artisan, Mandy Aftel, has been dedicating her work in the industry for almost 30 years. Everything she puts out to her people undergoes meticulous craftsmanship to ensure the highest of quality. Eco-conscious practices are integral to every step of the process, from sourcing vintage materials to working in small batches and fostering healthy relationships with suppliers.
Behind The Logo
Art Nouveau believed all forms of art and creativity were equally valuable and should be accessible to anyone. I saw the similar qualities between Aftelier and Art Nouveau in the sense that they both worked with natural forms. The wordmark’s typeface, Bagerich, and the custom flourishes in the A and L take after sinuous curves from how plants and flowers organically grow.
The brandmark was inspired by alchemy bottles as I saw the connection between blending perfumes as being similar to alchemy.
Moodboard
Natural elements, strong femininity, organic curves, earthy tones.
Brand Colours
Inspired by colours used in ornamental floral illustrations in antique books from the 1800s - which often features muted hues. The bright blue and off white contrasts the purple and green mainly to be used for text.
